In 2007 The American Impressionist Society (AIS) designated Victoria Brooks for the honorable Signature Membership status. As a Signature Member she is entitled to use the initials AIS following a signature on a painting, prints and reproductions of original work. By virtue of her professional success and "consistent excellence" Victoria was honored during an official induction held on Saturday, November 5, 2005. She attended the NOAPSociety National Convention, Award Ceremony, the formal Reception in Osage Beach, Missouri, USA. This honor means that Victoria Brooks will be joining the "creme de la crème" of artists representing NOAPS to the international art community. WEEKLY IMPRESSIONIST OIL CLASSES: Tuesdays, 12:30-3:30 pm. They are in 6-week sessions. Classes will be taught at the Sacramento Fine Arts Center. These classes are for all levels of painters. The next session starts October 28, 2008. The cost is $175.00 with a class size limit of 12. Please e-mail Victoria at victoria@vbrooks.com for future dates and to reserve a space.PLEIN AIR PAINTING WORKSHOPS: These 2-day workshops are from 9 am-4 pm, Saturday and Sunday. They will begin at Victoria’s Loomis Studio (east of Sacramento) and then go to other nearby scenic areas to paint. The cost for each weekend is $200.00 per person. MENDOCINO PLEIN AIR PAINTING WORKSHOP: Saturday and Sunday October 11 & 12, 2008. The cost is $175. It is for all levels of painters and we will be painting on location and in the studio. This workshop is at the Mendocino Art Center, so you need to make your reservation directly through them: http://www.mendocinoartcenter.org, (800) 653-3328. The Mendocino Art Center is located in the heart of the beautiful village of Mendocino on the coast 150 north of San Francisco overlooking the rugged expanse of the Pacific Ocean.
PAINT IN CAPRI, POSITANO AND THE AMLFI COAST (ITALY) WITH VICTORIA BROOKS IN OCTOBER 2009!
October 14-22, 2009: Victoria will be teaching this plein air painting workshop where we will capture the most lovely and historical coastline of Italy. During our nine days of travel, we will explore and paint the beautiful island of Capri, the charming seaside village of Positano (filmed in the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun"), the romantic cliff side city of Ravello, and other scenic areas of the Amalfi coastline. This all inclusive plan includes tuition, eight night’s accommodations in Capri and Positano, daily continental breakfasts & dinners, escorted group travel to/from Rome and a day cruise to/from Capri to Positano. September 26-28, 2008: "KVIE-TV 6 ART AUCTION". Victoria is a "Special Collection" artist and continues to support Public Broadcasting with her figurative beach painting called Brittany Coast. September 28-November 16, 2008: NATIONAL OIL AND ACRYLIC PAINTERS SOCIETY (NOAPS) 18TH Annual "Best of America 2008" Juried Exhibition: Victoria is a signature member of this national organization. This 2-month long travelling exhibit opens at the Ella Carothers Dunnegan Gallery of Art in Bolivar, MO, (417) 326-3439. The opening reception is Sunday, September 28, 1pm - 4pm. This exhibition will be travelling to 4 different locations and concludes on November 16. Victoria had two oil paintings selected for this exhibit: Riomaggiore Boats and Sand Play.
October 1-5, 2008: PLEIN AIR PAINTING OF THE ARROYO SECO, Art Exhibition and Sale. November 7-9, 2008: PLACER ARTS 14th ANNUAL AUTUMN ART STUDIOS TOUR: Victoria will open her personal studio to the public along with 80 other juried Placer County artists. She will be sharing her recent works from her many travels as well as demonstrating her painting techniques.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Victoria’s studio will be open from 10am – 5pm. A preview group exhibition and the opening gala reception will be held at the Blue Line Gallery in Roseville, CA. on Thursday October 16 from 6:30pm – 9pm. November 15, 2008-February 28, 2009: NOAPS (National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society) SIGNATURE ARTISTS INVITATIONAL: This special exhibition is for signature members only and includes two oil paintings by Victoria: Laguna Parasol and Beach Girls. It will be held at ARTichokes Gallery in Leawood, Kansas. The opening reception is Saturday November 15 from 6pm – 9pm.
